Wooga Poplar Still in Play for Kentucky Basketball
The Kentucky Wildcats are still in the running to land Miami Hurricanes guard Wooga Poplar, despite the Philly native recently completing a visit with Villanova. According to Big 5 Hoops reporter Aaron Bracy, Poplar is planning to visit Kentucky, Arkansas, Oregon, and potentially Kansas.
Wildcats looking to bolster their roster
The 6-foot-5, 197-pound Poplar spent the last three seasons at Miami and was part of the Hurricanes’ Final Four run in 2023. He has one season of eligibility remaining. This past season, Poplar averaged 13.1 points on 42.6% shooting from the field (38.5% from 3-point land), 4.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.9 turnovers in 31.2 minutes per game.
“Wooga Poplar would be a big get for Mark Pope and Co.”
With there being a dead period until June 2nd, Poplar will have to wait a bit before he can take official visits to college campuses. However, it’s clear that Kentucky is still in the mix for the talented guard.
The recruitment process is heating up
As the Wildcats look to bolster their roster, they’ll be keeping a close eye on Poplar’s decision. Will he choose to join the Big Blue Nation, or will he opt for another program? Only time will tell.
Poplar’s decision will be highly anticipated
One thing is for sure, though - Wooga Poplar is still very much in play for Kentucky Basketball, and fans will be eagerly awaiting his decision.
