Miller, who spent the 2023-24 season at Southern Illinois, appeared in 24 games as a sophomore. Prior to that, he started his collegiate career at Incarnate Word, where he started 28 games as a freshman. Miller averaged 10.4 points, 2.7 assists, and 35.4 minutes per game for the Cardinals. He scored in double-figures 16 times and shot 48.9% (92-of-188) from the floor.
“We are really excited about Trey Miller,” said UTRGV head men’s basketball coach Kahil Fennell. “He is someone that is coming in at the point guard position and gives us some stability. He has obviously been experienced in this league and experienced some success in this league. He is a scorer and a playmaker. He played a lot of minutes as a true freshman at Incarnate Word and was really productive when he was there.”
Miller finished his career at Concordia Lutheran High School with 1,380 points while leading his team to four district championships. As a senior, Miller averaged 19.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 4.3 steals per game as he was named the VYPE Men’s Basketball Private School Player of the Year and National Christian School Athletic Association (NCSAA) 2022 National Player of the Year.
