Caruthers joins the UTRGV team with an impressive track record of success. In his previous role at Missouri State, he helped the team achieve 34 wins over two seasons, including 19 home wins. This streak extended the program’s consecutive winning seasons at home to 54 straight.

If you take a look at his career and the way he has worked his way up in this business, he has been truly impressive and has been successful at every stop.”
Under Caruthers’ guidance, Alston Masonto earned All-Missouri Valley Conference honors, leading the Bears with 17.6 points per game. Cesare Edwards also received MVC All-Bench Team honors, averaging 7.6 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.
Daniel Venzant
Venzant brings a strong background in player development to the UTRGV team. In his previous role at Liberty, he focused on individual development and managed the scout team. During his time at Liberty, the team achieved 18 wins, including 12 home wins.
“We’re thrilled to have Daniel join us on our staff,” said Fennell. “He brings great energy as well as a high-level talent for player development, particularly with our back court players. His experience as a player professionally overseas, coupled with his Texas roots, makes Daniel a terrific fit for us at UTRGV.”
Venzant’s experience as a player professionally overseas, combined with his Texas roots, makes him a valuable addition to the UTRGV team.
