USA Women’s Basketball Team Announced for Paris Olympics
The wait is over, and the USA women’s basketball team for the upcoming Paris Olympics has been announced. Unfortunately, Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark will not be part of the team, as reported by David Eickholt of 247Sports. Clark, who became the college basketball all-time leading scorer earlier this year, has been impressive in her first 14 WNBA games, averaging 16.8 points, 5.3 rebounds, 6.3 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.

Despite Clark’s omission, the Americans will still be considered favorites to win the gold medal, given their star-studded squad. The team will feature A’ja Wilson, Breanna Stewart, Diana Taurasi, Brittney Griner, Alyssa Thomas, Napheesa Collier, Jewell Loyd, Kelsey Plum, Jackie Young, Sabrina Ionescu, Chelsea Gray, and Kahleah Copper.
Las Vegas Aces dominate the Olympic roster
The Las Vegas Aces will have four players representing the team, including A’ja Wilson, Kelsey Plum, Jackie Young, and Chelsea Gray. The Phoenix Mercury will also have a strong presence with three players, including Diana Taurasi, who holds the record for the most Olympic titles in US basketball history with five gold medals.

The Fever, currently 3-9, will not have any players represented in the 12-player Olympic roster. Despite this, the team will be looking to build on their recent performances, including their 85-83 win over the Washington Mystics, where Clark reached a career-high seven 3-pointers.
Caitlin Clark, a rising star in the WNBA
The USA women’s basketball team has won the gold medal in each of the Summer Games since 1996, and they will be looking to continue this streak in Paris. With a strong squad and a wealth of experience, they will be the team to beat in the tournament.
