The USA Men’s Basketball team has officially begun its journey to the Paris Olympics, defeating Canada 86-72 in the first of five exhibition games. This marks the team’s first game together in preparation for the highly anticipated Olympic tournament.

LeBron James, a key player for Team USA, expressed his thoughts on the team’s performance, stating, “We got a long way to go.” While there’s certainly room for improvement, the team’s determination and chemistry were on full display.
Former President Barack Obama made a surprise appearance at the USA Basketball 50th anniversary party, where he was all smiles among the players heading to Paris. In a now-viral video, Obama is seen greeting the team and delivering a 10-minute speech, exuding charisma and reminding everyone that he is an avid basketball fan.

“It is true that I am the hooper in chief,” Obama declared, setting the tone for his motivational speech. He went on to express his confidence in the team, stating, “I’m pretty confident that they’re going to be bringing back the gold and representing us the way we should be represented around the world.”
Obama was also spotted sitting courtside for Team USA’s exhibition game against Canada, where Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards led the team in points with 13.
