UCLA Basketball: A New Era Begins with Dominick Harris
The UCLA Bruins have made a significant addition to their roster with the transfer of Dominick Harris from Loyola Marymount University. Harris, a California native, has chosen to join Mick Cronin’s team, citing the coaching staff’s belief in him and the prestigious reputation of UCLA.

In an interview, Harris explained that the coaching staff’s interest in him was a major factor in his decision. “It started with the coaching staff showing interest in me,” Harris said. “Obviously, having their beliefs in me in what I can do on the court and how I can become a better player.”
Harris, who hails from Temecula, California, was impressed by the UCLA campus during his visit. “It’s always eye-opening, walking that campus,” he said. “I’m used to the UCLA experience, having been around for a while, but it’s always great to see the history behind the whole institution.”

Coach Cronin and his staff have been pursuing Harris since he entered the transfer portal in mid-March. Harris, who averaged 14.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and one assist last season, is expected to bring a new level of defensive intensity to the Bruins. His ability to shoot from beyond the arc, with a 45% three-point shooting average, will also be a valuable asset to the team.
As Harris prepares to don the UCLA jersey, he’s focused on working hard, playing defense, making open shots, and making his teammates better. With his skills and dedication, the Bruins are poised to make a significant impact in the 2024-25 season.
