NBA Superstars’ Humbling Confession: Spinning a Basketball on Fingertips is No Easy Feat!
USA Basketball stars put to the test
A recent video posted by USA Basketball revealed a shocking truth about some of the NBA’s top stars. When asked to spin a basketball on their fingers, several of them struggled to master this popular trick.
Arguably the biggest surprise came from Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry, known for his exceptional shooting and dribbling abilities. In the video, Curry humbly admitted that spinning a ball was something that had always eluded him. “So, I can do a lot of things with a basketball – a lot of things,” Curry said. “That is the one thing that I cannot do.”
On the other hand, Boston Celtics guard Jrue Holiday, Los Angeles Lakers forward Anthony Davis, and Phoenix Suns forward Kevin Durant made it look effortless. Durant even predicted that everyone else could do the same, but was stunned to find out that Indiana Pacers guard Tyrese Haliburton couldn’t.
The video showed some lighthearted banter between the players, with Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo attributing Haliburton’s struggles to his age, saying “Oh, that’s Gen Z.” Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid didn’t even attempt to spin the ball, stating he had no idea how to do it.
Durant’s reaction to Embiid’s confession was priceless. “Joel? That’s sickening. I thought he had more coordination than that,” he said.
The video ended with Curry claiming that his inability to spin a ball was “one of the most embarrassing things.” When he tried and failed, he slammed the ball down and walked away in frustration.
