The Future of BYU Basketball: Filling Out the Roster
The BYU basketball program is gearing up for the new season, and with several players transferring out, the team is looking to fill out its roster. This weekend, coveted transfer Chaz Lanier will be visiting the campus, and he’s not the only one on the team’s radar.
Current Roster and Departures
Last season, the team used only 12 of the 13 available scholarships. The current roster includes Trey Stewart, Richie Saunders, Trevin Knell, Dawson Baker, Dallin Hall, and Fousseyni Traore. However, six scholarship players from last season will not be returning, including starters Aly Khalifa, Spencer Johnson, and Jaxson Robinson.

New Additions
Two scholarship newcomers have already signed with the team: Utah transfer Keba Keita and Corner Canyon signee Brody Kozlowski. Keita could slide into the starting lineup, while Kozlowski has the potential to make an early impact at the stretch four position.
Top Targets
The team is currently targeting several top prospects, including Chaz Lanier, Elijah Crawford, Berke Buyuktuncel, and Maxim Logue. Lanier would provide a much-needed scoring punch, while Crawford could be the point guard of the future. Buyuktuncel could fill the stretch four role, and Logue would bring size and athleticism to the frontcourt.
