Tennessee Basketball Still Active in Transfer Portal
The 2024 spring transfer portal may have closed, but Rick Barnes and Tennessee basketball are still hard at work, targeting several players to bolster their roster for the upcoming season.

The Vols have already added three players through the transfer portal, including forwards Igor Milicic Jr. and Darlinstone Dubar, as well as center Felix Okpara. However, they still have a few scholarships available and are looking to add at least one guard to their roster.
One player who has been linked to Tennessee is North Florida transfer guard Chaz Lanier. The No. 1 ranked combo guard and No. 8 overall prospect in this year’s portal class, Lanier is one of the most efficient scorers in the nation. He has been tied to the Vols since entering the portal and has received a crystal ball prediction to Tennessee from On3 Sports.

Lanier did not make the list for the draft combine, which might not be a strong option for him this year. Other teams recruiting him include Kentucky and Maryland. Kentucky’s new coaching staff could use Lanier’s recruitment as a launching point for the future, while Maryland would be a surprise given their 16-17 record last season.
Tennessee Basketball Projected to Have Top-10 Lineup Next Season
With the additions they have made so far, Tennessee basketball is projected to have a top-10 lineup next season. The Vols are still working hard to add more talent to their roster, and fans can expect an exciting season ahead.
