A New Chapter for Shahid Muhammad: UMass Bound
As I sat down to write about Shahid Muhammad’s latest move, I couldn’t help but think about the incredible journey this young man has been on. From Queens, New York, to Twin Falls, Idaho, Muhammad’s basketball career has been nothing short of remarkable. And now, he’s taking the next step, committing to the University of Massachusetts (UMass).
CSI’s Shahid Muhammad
Muhammad’s time at the College of Southern Idaho (CSI) was nothing short of impressive. In his lone season with the Golden Eagles, he broke the CSI record for blocks in a season, rejecting an astonishing 106 shots. His impressive stats didn’t stop there, as he averaged 5.9 points per game, shooting an impressive 64.5% from the field, and leading the team in rebounds per game with 5.6. But it wasn’t just his numbers that impressed – it was his ability to make an impact on the court, whether it was with a thunderous dunk or a crucial block.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the UMass family,” Muhammad said in a statement. “I’m excited to take my game to the next level and contribute to the team’s success.”
Muhammad’s commitment to UMass is a testament to his hard work and dedication. Under the guidance of Coach Frank Martin, who led the South Carolina Gamecocks to the Final Four in 2017, Muhammad will be joining a team that finished 20-11 last season and is looking to make a deep run in the NCAA Tournament.

As I reflect on Muhammad’s journey, I’m reminded of the importance of perseverance and determination. From his freshman year at Seton Hall to his breakout season at CSI, Muhammad has proven that with hard work and dedication, anything is possible.
Shahid Muhammad in action
I, for one, can’t wait to see what the future holds for Shahid Muhammad. With his talent, work ethic, and determination, the sky’s the limit for this young man.
