A New Era for Presbyterian College Women’s Basketball
The Presbyterian College women’s basketball team has just welcomed a new addition to their coaching staff. Ivey Slaughter, a seasoned coach with a wealth of experience, has joined the team as an assistant coach. This exciting development marks a new chapter for the Blue Hose family.
The Blue Hose family welcomes Ivey Slaughter
Slaughter, a Macon, Georgia native, brings a wealth of experience to the table. She played basketball at Florida State and later spent time as an assistant coach at UNC Asheville. During her tenure at UNC Asheville, she coached McKinley Brooks-Sumpter, who earned a spot on the All-Conference Second Team.
“I am excited and honored to join the Presbyterian family!” Said Ivey Slaughter. “I’m extremely grateful to Coach Tiffany for having been given the opportunity to be a part of this staff. I am thrilled to work alongside her and continue to learn and grow as a coach. She has a great vision of success for this program and I am eager to get to work!”
Slaughter’s debut season with the Bulldogs was nothing short of impressive. She helped the team stage a memorable comeback in the opening round of the Big South Conference Tournament, rallying from a 17-point deficit to stun Winthrop 59-58. McKinley Brooks-Sumpter showcased her talent by earning a spot on the league’s All-Conference Honorable Mention team and was also recognized for her academic achievements, securing a place on the All-Academic Team.

After graduating in 2017, Slaughter was invited to WNBA training camps with the New York Liberty and then the Las Vegas Aces in 2018. She then went on to play professionally in Europe, competing in Hungary, Latvia, and Sweden.
“I am so excited to have Ivey joining the True Blue family.” Said Tiffany Sardin. “She’s coached in this league and played at an elite level. I can’t wait to see the lasting impact she will have on our women. Her work ethic and passion for developing young women will fit perfectly with our staff.”
