Nate Vogel Takes the Helm at Augustana Women’s Basketball
Sioux Falls native Nate Vogel has been appointed as the head coach of the Augustana women’s basketball team, bringing a wealth of experience and success to the program. Vogel’s impressive track record and deep roots in the basketball community make him a standout choice for this pivotal role.
Vogel joins Augustana after a successful stint at Texas A&M International, where he guided the Dustdevils to a remarkable 25-7 season, marking a historic achievement for the program with their first-ever national ranking.
A Force to Be Reckoned With
Known for his team’s aggressive and high-energy style of play, Vogel’s coaching philosophy emphasizes relentless defense and fast-paced offense. Under his leadership, the Dustdevils ranked in the top 10 nationally in multiple statistical categories, showcasing their dominance on the court.
According to Vogel, returning to Sioux Falls feels like a homecoming. “I’m thrilled to lead the team I grew up supporting as a young fan,” Vogel expressed. “Bringing my family back to Sioux Falls, where my roots run deep, is a dream come true for me.”

During his tenure at TAMIU, Vogel demonstrated his prowess in recruiting and player development, fostering a culture of excellence within the team. His efforts resulted in the emergence of two All-Americans, along with numerous conference accolades and individual honors for his players.
