The Michigan men’s basketball team has announced a home-and-home series with TCU, which will see the Horned Frogs visit Crisler Center on November 15. This matchup will be a homecoming of sorts for Frankie Collins, the point guard who played his freshman season at Michigan in 2020-21 and the past two seasons at Arizona State. Collins transferred to TCU this offseason.

TCU head coach Jamie Dixon

TCU has been a consistent NCAA Tournament participant, making the tournament each of the past three years, including a second-round appearance in 2022. The Horned Frogs finished last season with a 21-13 record, losing in the first round to Utah State.

Michigan’s nonconference schedule is shaping up to be a challenging one, with matchups against Wake Forest, Miami Ohio, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. The Wolverines will also participate in the Fort Myers Tip-Off, where they will face two of three teams: South Carolina, Virginia Tech, or Xavier.

Collins previously faced Michigan with Arizona State in the 2022-23 season, helping the Sun Devils blow out the Wolverines in Brooklyn. During his time at Michigan, Collins was the backup to DeVante’ Jones and started the NCAA Tournament opener against Colorado State, playing well in the win over Tennessee.

This season, Michigan will also visit USC, the new school of Terrance Williams II, in a Big Ten matchup. Several other ex-Wolverines are still playing college ball.

Michigan has faced TCU just once before, winning at home on December 13, 1962.
