A Proven Track Record in Player Development

Prior to joining BYU, Brady showcased his skills as an assistant coach for the Windy City Bulls in the NBA G League during the 2021-22 season. Before that, he made waves internationally, serving as the head coach for the Eastern Long Lions in Hong Kong’s ASEAN Basketball League during the 2019-20 season.

Brady was also at the helm of the Wisconsin Herd in 2017, marking the team’s inaugural season in the G-League. During his tenure with the Herd, he worked alongside the Milwaukee Bucks management, focusing on nurturing player development and rehabilitation programs.

As head coach, Brady significantly influenced high-profile players such as Donte DiVincenzo of the New York Knicks and Gary Payton II of the Golden State Warriors. His holistic contribution to rehabilitation protocols helped players like Jabari Parker navigate the challenging road back to peak performance.

Building Foundations and Fostering Growth

Brady’s commitment to player growth is evidenced by the successful call-ups of players like Xavier Munford, James Young, and Brandon Jennings during his command of the Herd. Brady’s keen understanding of the game, combined with his collaborative efforts with various coaching and medical staff at the Bucks, ensured that players were primed for success.

In addition to direct player training, he led pre-draft workouts integrating elite talent, including Donovan Mitchell, who would eventually become a first-round draft pick for the Utah Jazz in 2017.

A Versatile Background and Education

Brady’s journey into coaching began in 2012 as he joined the Iowa Energy as an assistant coach, initially under the guidance of Kevin Young. He further honed his coaching acumen with roles at the Bakersfield Jam, Los Angeles D-Fenders, and Salt Lake City Stars. His multifaceted experiences provide a comprehensive outlook for his new role at BYU.

Before venturing into coaching, Brady enjoyed a four-year professional playing career that commenced with Basket Racing Club Luxembourg in 2008. He returned to the U.S. to play for teams such as the Utah Flash and Idaho Stampede, ultimately finishing his collegiate journey at Utah Valley University (UVU). There, he stood out on the court, earning the title of NCAA Division I Independent Defensive Player of the Year in his senior season.
