As the live recruiting period came to a close, Indiana University’s basketball program is gearing up for an exciting season ahead. With top recruits visiting campus and the team’s performance on the rise, Hoosier fans have plenty to be optimistic about.

The future is bright for IU basketball

Braylon Mullins: A Rising Star

Class of 2025 shooting guard Braylon Mullins has been making waves in the recruiting world. In a recent interview, Mullins expressed his interest in taking an official visit to Indiana with his AAU teammates Trent Sisley and Malachi Moreno. This concept is gaining momentum, with plans to visit during the football games in early fall.

“We all do different things for our team,” Mullins said in an interview. “I want to set it (the IU visit) for early fall during the football games. That is what it is looking like right now.”

Mullins’ recruitment is expanding, with schools like UConn entering the mix. But with his impressive spring highlights, it’s clear why IU is a top contender for his services.

Indiana Elite: A Dominant Force

The Indiana Elite Adidas 3SSB team, featuring Mullins, Sisley, and Moreno, completed a perfect 13-0 run through the circuit, finishing 19-0 overall this spring. As a team, they shot an impressive 43% from three on over 21 attempts per game.

Here are some notable individual numbers:

  • Braylon Mullins: 19.6 ppg, 3 apg, 51.1 FG%, 44 3FG%
  • Trent Sisley: 13.8 ppg, 6.6 rpg, 56 FG%, 44 3FG%
  • Malachi Moreno: 13.7 ppg, 9.2 rpg, 2.4 bpg, 64.4 FG%

Kiyan Anthony: A Family Connection

2025 wing Kiyan Anthony, son of Carmelo Anthony, recently spoke about his plans to visit Bloomington in the months ahead. With a strong connection to IU coach Mike Woodson, who trained him as a youngster, Anthony is a top priority for the Hoosiers.

“He [Mike Woodson] is like my Godfather,” Anthony said in a report. “He trained me a lot when I was younger and showed me the path to make it to the highest level. Now that he’s coaching at Indiana and I have the opportunity to play with him, that’s a blessing.”

While Syracuse is still a strong contender for Anthony’s services, IU is definitely in the mix.

Coach Woodson’s Recruiting Trail

Coach Mike Woodson was on the move over the weekend, making stops at all three major shoe-circuit events: Adidas in Texas, Nike in Indiana, and Under Armour in Ohio. He watched top prospects like 2025 5-star power forward Bryson Tiller and 2025 4-star wing Jordan Scott, among others.

Mikel Brown: A Top Point Guard Target

2025 top-20 guard Mikel Brown is another key target for IU. He recently spoke about his plans to visit Bloomington in the late summer or fall.

“Their coaching staff has been on me since the ninth grade,” Brown said. “They offered me then and have stayed consistent throughout the way… They had Jalen Hood-Schifino who is in the league now and Coach Woodson says I will contribute right away once I get to campus. Overall, that is a great situation.”

With Alabama, Ole Miss, Providence, Texas, and South Carolina also in the mix, Brown is a highly sought-after prospect.
