West Boys Basketball Team Takes Home the Win in N.C. Coaches Association East-West All-Star Game

The West boys basketball team proved their dominance in the N.C. Coaches Association East-West All-Star Boys Basketball Game, defeating the East 108-92 at The Fieldhouse at the Greensboro Coliseum Complex. I was on the edge of my seat as I watched Southern Guilford’s Jamias Ferere lead the charge with a stunning 30-point performance.

The game was neck and neck early on, but the West eventually pulled ahead before halftime, thanks in part to a late tip-in by Jucqarie Love of Southern Guilford. The West’s strong shooting performance in the first half gave them a comfortable lead going into the break.

The East tried to make a comeback in the second half, using their defensive pressure to chip away at the deficit. However, it was too little, too late. The West’s lead was too great, and they cruised to their third straight victory in the game.

One of the key factors in the West’s success was their ability to capitalize on the East’s turnovers. They forced 22 turnovers in the game, scoring on nearly every single one. This allowed them to build a significant lead and maintain it throughout the game.

Ferere’s impressive performance earned him most valuable player honors, and it’s easy to see why. He not only scored 30 points but also brought in five rebounds and recorded two assists. He was a force to be reckoned with on the court, and his teammates fed off his energy.

In addition to Ferere, several other players stood out for the West. Jordan Lineberger of Hickory and Jonah Ridgill of Chatham Charter each scored 14 points, and Carson Daniel of Central Cabarrus and Jalen Chambers of Mooresville each scored 10 points.

The East was led by Randall King of Northern Nash, who finished with 19 points and nine rebounds. His high school teammate, Izeal Mallory, posted 16 points. Isaiah Upchurch of Southern Lee added 15 points, and Syncere Burnette of Wakefield chipped in 12 points and nine rebounds.

As I reflect on the game, it’s clear that the West’s strong team effort was the key to their victory. They worked together seamlessly, using their individual strengths to create a cohesive unit.

The West’s win marks their third straight victory in the game, and they now lead the series 39-36. As I looked around the court, I could sense the excitement and camaraderie among the players. It was clear that this was more than just a game – it was a celebration of basketball and the athleticism of these talented young players.
