The Blue Devils’ Latest Pursuit: Hudson Greer

As a lifelong Duke basketball fan, Hudson Greer never thought he’d be receiving a text from none other than Coach Jon Scheyer himself. But that’s exactly what happened during his Algebra 2 class, and it’s a moment he won’t soon forget.

“That was awesome,” Greer recounted in a chat with Zagsblog’s Charlie Parent. “I was just sitting in the middle of Algebra 2, just trying to get my work done, and I get a text from Coach Scheyer.”

Greer, a four-star wing from Texas, recently announced his transfer to Montverde Academy in Florida for his senior prep campaign. And judging by his chat with Parent, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Blue Devils soon officially enter the fray for his services via an offer.

The Blue Devils are on the hunt for top talent, and Hudson Greer might just be their next target.

Greer, who’s impressed by what Scheyer has achieved in only two years since succeeding Mike Krzyzewski, is an athletic wing who plays above the rim and is heralded for his three-way scoring ability. He has a fast pace to the game, running the floor well and nailing transition jumpers.

Hudson Greer’s athleticism and scoring prowess make him a top target for the Blue Devils.

Scheyer recently extended an offer to the cycle’s No. 1 prospect in Prolific Prep (Calif.) five-star forward AJ Dybantsa. Prior to that, the Blue Devils hadn’t pinpointed any new 2025 targets since the fall.

For now, Duke’s 2025 offer count stands at nine as Scheyer & Co. look for their first commit from the class.
