Dayton and Marquette to Clash in Home-and-Home Series

The University of Dayton and Marquette University have announced a two-game series in men’s basketball, with the first matchup set to take place on Saturday, Dec. 14 at UD Arena.

The Flyers will host the Golden Eagles at UD Arena on December 14.

The two teams have a rich history, having first faced off in the 1966-67 season. Marquette leads the series 21-14, but Dayton won the last meeting 89-75 on Nov. 29, 2008 in the championship game of the Chicago Invitational Challenge.

“We’re excited to add another strong opponent to our schedule,” said Dayton head coach Anthony Grant. “Marquette has a rich tradition of success, and we’re looking forward to competing against them.”

The game on December 14 will mark the first of a two-game contract, with the Flyers traveling to the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee during the 2025-26 season.

The Golden Eagles will look to redeem themselves after falling to the Flyers in their last meeting.

Dayton returns three starters from its 25-8 team that advanced to the second round of the 2024 NCAA tournament. The Flyers will look to build on that momentum as they take on the Golden Eagles in what promises to be an exciting matchup.

The Flyers are looking to make a statement in their home opener against Marquette.
