Creighton Men’s Basketball: A Season to Remember

As the 2024-25 season approaches, Creighton men’s basketball fans have a lot to be excited about. The non-conference schedule has been announced, and it’s packed with thrilling matchups that will put the Bluejays to the test.

A Big 12 - BIG EAST Battle Awaits

One of the most highly anticipated games of the season is the Big 12 - BIG EAST Battle contest against Kansas, set to take place on December 4th. This will be the ninth time Creighton has faced off against the Jayhawks in Omaha, but the first time since 1951. With Kansas currently ranked as the top team in early preseason polls, this game is sure to be a nail-biter.

A Homestand to Remember

Before facing off against Kansas, Creighton will host five consecutive home games, starting with a November 6 contest against UTRGV. The homestand will also feature games against Fairleigh Dickinson, Houston Christian, UMKC, and Nebraska. The series against the Cornhuskers has been played at least once each season since 1977, making this a must-see matchup for fans.

The Players Era Festival Awaits

After the homestand, Creighton will head to Las Vegas for the inaugural Players Era Festival, where they’ll face off against Oregon in a rematch of their double-overtime NCAA Tournament win in March. The festival will also feature games against San Diego State, Texas A&M, Alabama, Houston, Notre Dame, and Rutgers.

A Trip to Alabama

Following the festival, Creighton will close out non-conference play with a trip to Alabama on December 14. The Bluejays defeated the Crimson Tide 85-82 last season in Omaha, but Alabama returns the majority of its team that reached last season’s Final Four.
