The Illinois basketball program is on the verge of landing one of the highest-rated recruits in program history. Will Riley, a five-star small forward, has risen through the ranks to become the No. 15 player in the country, and the Illini are in the driver’s seat to land him.

Riley’s star began to rise nearly a year ago, when he was rated as a four-star recruit and ranked as the No. 39 player in the class of 2025. In other news, Youngstown State University’s women’s basketball and men’s swimming and diving teams have earned the Horizon League Raise Your Sights award for the 2023-24 academic year. The award recognizes the teams with the highest combined GPA.
