College Hoops: A Season of Change
The college basketball landscape is shifting, and it’s not just the players who are on the move. Coaches are switching teams, and recruits are flipping their commitments. In this article, we’ll explore the latest developments in the world of college hoops.
A New Home for Marcus Adams Jr.
Former BYU forward Marcus Adams Jr. has decided to take his talents to Cal State Northridge. The highly touted four-star prospect played in just one game for the Cougars before entering the transfer portal. Adams, who was slowed by a foot injury throughout the previous college basketball season, is now headed closer to his hometown in the Los Angeles area.
The Matadors campus is located in Northridge, a neighborhood in the Los Angeles area, about 45 miles from Torrance.
George Washington III Finds a New Home
Michigan men’s basketball player George Washington III has found a new home at Richmond. The freshman guard is headed to the Spiders’ program after entering the transfer portal twice this offseason. Washington averaged 6.6 minutes across 22 appearances this past season.
The Spiders went 23-10 last season and lost in the first round of the NIT.
Isaac Davis Flips Commitment to Utah State
Isaac Davis, a three-star recruit and one of the top talents from Idaho in the 2024 recruiting class, has flipped his commitment to Utah State. Davis signed with BYU in November but has since changed his mind, opting to join Jerrod Calhoun’s program. The 6-foot-7, 250-pound forward averaged 16.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game as a senior at Hillcrest High in Idaho Falls.
The Aggies are experiencing heavy roster turnover and a coaching change for the third time in four years.
These are just a few examples of the many changes happening in college basketball. As the landscape continues to shift, one thing is certain - the game will always be exciting.
