Background on the Star Player
Brink is no stranger to success; during her high school years, she played for Mountainside and Southridge high schools in Beaverton, Oregon. It was during her time at college, however, that she gained prominence. She played for Stanford and won multiple accolades, including a national championship in 2021. Brink was recently drafted second overall in this year’s WNBA draft and is now a forward for the Los Angeles Sparks.

How the Team Came Together
Joining Brink in the competition are three other talented players: Cierra Burdick, Rhyne Howard, and Hailey Van Lith. The team will be coached by Jennifer Rizzotti, who serves as the president of the WNBA’s Connecticut Sun.
According to USA Basketball, the 3-on-3 game is a half-court game with a 10-minute game clock. Baskets are worth one and two points, and the first team to score 21 points is the winner.
Rizzotti expressed her excitement and admiration for the team in a statement:
I say this all the time but there is no greater privilege than to represent the USA at the Olympics.
We understand the challenge in front of us as we face tremendous talent and experienced 3x3 teams. I am confident this roster gives us what we need to compete for another gold medal with experience, versatility, and a commitment to USA Basketball excellence.

Brink’s Excitement for the Olympics
Brink shared her own thoughts on her selection to the team in a video statement posted by USA Basketball:
I’m most excited to be an Olympian. It’s been a dream my whole life, and the opportunity to win a gold medal, especially with this group, honestly I can’t even put it to words. It’s insane.
This sentiment reflects the passion and commitment Brink brings to her basketball career, which has led her to achieve remarkable success. USA Basketball will send four teams to the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, including 5-on-5 men and women, as well as 3-on-3 men and women.
