BYU’s Egor Demin Projected as Top-10 Pick in 2025 NBA Draft
The 2024 NBA draft may have just concluded, but the buzz around the 2025 draft is already building. One player generating significant attention is BYU guard Egor Demin, who is projected to be a Top-10 pick in next year’s draft.
Demin’s impressive skills on display
CBS Sports recently released their Way-Too-Early 2025 NBA Draft first-round mock draft, and Demin features prominently, slotted in at No. 10. This is a significant development for BYU, which hasn’t had a player selected in the NBA draft since Jimmer Fredette in 2011.
Demin’s rise to prominence is no surprise, given his impressive performances for Real Madrid. The 6-foot-9 guard has consistently demonstrated his skills, including his passing, playmaking, and shooting abilities.
“We are thrilled that Egor and his family are joining us at BYU,” BYU head coach Kevin Young said when Demin signed earlier this month. “He is a special talent with an extremely bright future, and he plays the game the right way.”
Demin’s success is not limited to his individual performances. He led Real Madrid to a championship in the U18 ANGT Championship, where he scored 26 points, grabbed 11 rebounds, and dished out six assists, along with three steals and two blocks.

The 2025 draft is shaping up to be an exciting one, with other top prospects including Duke’s Cooper Flagg and Baylor’s VJ Edgecombe. However, Demin’s unique combination of skills and experience makes him a compelling choice for NBA teams.
As the draft approaches, all eyes will be on Demin to see if he can live up to his lofty projections.
