Bulls Strengthens Coaching Ranks with Two New Additions

The South Florida men’s basketball program has announced the appointment of Marreese Speights as the new Director of Player Development and Luke Moeller as the Video Coordinator. Both Speights and Moeller bring a wealth of experience to their respective roles, with Speights boasting 13 years of professional playing experience, including a national title with the Florida Gators and an NBA Championship with the Golden State Warriors.

A Proven Winner

Speights, a St. Petersburg native, was drafted 16th overall by the Philadelphia 76ers in 2008. He went on to play for several teams, including the Memphis Grizzlies, Cleveland Cavaliers, Golden State Warriors, LA Clippers, and Orlando Magic. During his 10 seasons in the NBA, Speights averaged 7.9 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. He also earned the nickname “Mo Buckets” during his time with the Warriors, where he helped the team achieve a record-breaking 73-9 season in 2014-15.

Breaking Down the X’s and O’s

Moeller, on the other hand, is no stranger to the USF men’s basketball program, having spent the last two seasons as a graduate assistant. He has a strong background in film analysis and player development, having worked with the coaching staff to create opponent scouting reports and individual player workout plans. Moeller graduated from USF with a master’s degree in global sustainability and sustainable business.

What This Means for the Bulls

The addition of Speights and Moeller to the coaching staff is a significant boost to the program. With their combined experience and expertise, the Bulls are well-positioned to make a strong push in the upcoming season. Speights’ ability to develop players and Moeller’s analytical skills will undoubtedly pay dividends on the court.
