Barnesville Girls Basketball Coach Resigns Amidst Controversy

In his resignation letter, Bomstad thanked the coaches, players, and fans for their support over the years. However, his departure comes amidst allegations of verbal abuse towards players. Several community members, including parents, have come forward with complaints against Bomstad, claiming that he made offensive and disrespectful comments towards the girls.
Concerned Parents
One parent, who wished to remain anonymous, stated that their junior daughter is considering quitting the team if the issue is not resolved quickly. Another parent claimed that all the girls on the team have said they will quit next year if the issue is not addressed.

Valley News Live had been investigating the allegations against Bomstad, and had reached out to Barnesville Superintendent Jon Ellerbusch several times throughout the school year. On May 7, Ellerbusch responded, stating that the school district was aware of the complaints and that they were under review by the administration.
