Auburn Basketball to Face Off Against Purdue in Birmingham This December
The Auburn Tigers are gearing up for a thrilling matchup against the Purdue Boilermakers this December, set to take place at the Legacy Arena at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex (BJCC) on the 21st. This game marks the beginning of a two-year series between the two teams, with a rematch scheduled for December 20, 2025, at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, IN.

The Tigers and Boilermakers have a rich history on the hardwood, with Purdue currently leading the series 2-1. Their last meeting was in 2016, when Purdue emerged victorious with a 96-71 win. Auburn’s only win against Purdue dates back to the 1985 NCAA Tournament, where they edged out a 59-58 victory.
Purdue Coach Matt Painter is thrilled about the upcoming series, stating, “We are excited to be part of an outstanding two-year series with Auburn, beginning in December in Birmingham, then returning to Indianapolis in 2025. We strive to make our non-conference schedule very competitive, and Auburn will be one of the top teams in the SEC this coming season.”
