Michigan Basketball: A New Era Begins
The Michigan Wolverines are gearing up for a brand new season, and it’s not just the players who are getting a fresh start. With a revamped roster and a new coach at the helm, the team is looking to make a statement in the Big Ten.
A New Frontcourt
The biggest change comes in the form of the starting lineup, where Danny Wolf and Vladislav Goldin are set to take the court together. The duo of 7-footers brings a unique combination of skills to the table. Goldin, the highest-rated incoming transfer, is a dominant force in the paint, with a 67.3% shooting percentage last season. Meanwhile, Wolf is a guard trapped in a 7-footer’s body, with a handle, fantastic passing skills, and a penchant for three-point shooting.

With Wolf and Goldin leading the charge, the Wolverines are poised to make a competitive push in the Big Ten right out of the gate. And with a supporting cast that includes 6-10 wing Sam Walters and 6-8 do-it-all forward Will Tschetter, Coach May has a wealth of options at his disposal.
A New Era of Michigan Basketball
As I reflect on the upcoming season, I’m reminded of my own experiences playing pickup games at the local community center. There was always that one guy who seemed to have it all - the skills, the athleticism, and the confidence to take over a game. For Michigan, that guy is Danny Wolf. With his unique combination of size and skill, he’s the kind of player who can take over a game at any moment.
Wolf’s versatility will be key to Michigan’s success.
Of course, it’s not just about Wolf. The entire roster is filled with players who bring something unique to the table. From Goldin’s dominance in the paint to Tschetter’s all-around skills, the Wolverines have the talent and depth to make a deep run in the Big Ten.
The Future is Bright
As I look ahead to the upcoming season, I’m filled with a sense of excitement and anticipation. With a new coach, new players, and a new attitude, the Michigan Wolverines are poised to make a statement in the Big Ten. And with Wolf and Goldin leading the charge, the sky’s the limit for this talented young team.
